With roots in Mankato and Winona, this southern Minnesota two-piece is a fortress of sound with a lot to say. Lyrics, spanning topics from the poison of fascist systems and ideals to the historic failings of white men, pair with fierce growls and yells that carry pointed threat. Aaron’s intricate and quick-moving drum parts full of rolls and blasts emulate a united yet anxious stream of infantry, ushering along the counter movement. Held together with Zach’s commanding and ominous guitar tone, tuned so low and put under enough distortion that it’s approaching the need for a new name, Wasi’chu is downright formidable.
Small but mighty, Wasi’chu is ready throw their backs into a revolution of heavy but meaningful songs.
